Mini-Circuits Achieves AS9100 Recertification to Revision D Standard
7 April 2017 – Mini-Circuits is proud to announce the recertification of our Quality Management System to Revision D of the AS9100 Standard. The recertification comes after the successful completion of an extensive audit to the updated standard during which all areas of our business were sampled. Our transition the new revision reaffirms our commitment to meeting and exceeding the most demanding quality standards of customers in the aerospace industry.
AS9100 is the most widely adopted standard for quality management by the aerospace industry. It encompasses the requirements of the ISO9001 quality standard, but includes additional requirements for quality and safety due to the critical nature of aerospace applications. Revision D of the standard was released by the International Aerospace Quality Group in 2016 and encompasses the 2015 revision of the ISO9001 standard.
Conformity to the new and extensively amended revision of AS9100 required a complete rewrite of Mini-Circuits' Quality Manual with new emphasis on risk-based thinking, organizational context, knowledge management, and many other elements outlined within the updated standard.
Mini-Circuits' Vice President of Quality, Arthur Ackerman commented, "Much effort was placed into making sure this transition was seamless. Our focus was on improving Mini-Circuits' overall quality, not just 'studying for the test.' Each one of us plays a role in supporting and improving quality at Mini-Circuits."
