Frequently Asked Power Sensor Questions

What Are Peak Power Sensors?
Peak power sensors are high-performing sensors designed for the measurement of modulated and fast-pulsed signals. These sensors offer peak, average, and statistical analysis (including crest factor and duty cycle) of power samples. Peak power sensors can trace modulation and pulse profiles over time, with a video bandwidth of up to 30 MHz, supporting rise and fall time measurements as low as 12 nanoseconds. Additionally, these sensors feature a video output port for the analysis of pulse profiles using an external oscilloscope.
What Are True RMS Power Sensors?
True RMS power sensors are available as a cost-effective measurement of power over time. These sensors can measure modulated and multi-tone signals, as well as pulsed signals with moderate duty cycles of 2% or higher.
What Are CW (Average power) sensors?
CW power sensors are the most cost-effective solution for average power measurement of CW and single-tone signals are ideal for lab testing and signal-level calibration of test systems. The FCPM-6000RC model offers both power and frequency measurement capabilities, featuring an integrated LCD screen for convenient data display
Software for RF Power Sensors
The software complementing our RF power sensors guide the user through the settings and displays current measurements. This feature offers powerful data recording and export capabilities, including a full API for Windows and Linuxm, complete with programming instructions and examples. Control is available via a USB RF power sensor, or ethernet power sensor, and some models feature an integrated LCD for convenience.
